Fukuoka has unusually clear English instructions for oversized trash. The city says the collection date is generally within about one week after the request, which makes the move-out decision easier: compare that window with your apartment handover before paying anyone.
Fukuoka oversized-trash move-out timeline
Contact the Oversized Trash Reception Center, confirm the fee, collection point and date, then buy the disposal ticket. The city lists ticket values of ¥300, ¥500 and ¥1,000.
Put the item out before 8:30 a.m.
Write the reception number or name on the disposal ticket, attach it to the item and put the item at the designated place before 8:30 a.m. on collection day. The collection itself may happen later in the day and you do not need to remain there just to watch it happen.
What is oversized trash in Fukuoka?
Fukuoka says items too large to fit properly in the designated bag, or heavy enough to tear the bag when carried, are treated as oversized trash. The city’s English item list identifies sofas, skis, snowboards and many other large household items as examples.

Move-out shortcut: use the city’s English page before calling a private collector
Because Fukuoka publishes the process in English, you can check the city option yourself before paying for translation or an English-speaking private service. If the actual collection date misses your room handover, then compare legal paid pickup.
